HANDS EXTENDED

What Can I Do To Help?

Hands Extended is a small organization with a huge vision. We rely upon our partners to help us meet needs on both sides of our southwestern border. Here are a few ways you can help us reach our goals.

Donate Something

Are you moving? Downsizing? Heading someplace cool for the summer? Bring your clean, useable items to the thrift store. We will sell them, donate them, or recycle them, and the proceeds will go to local charities. It's easy—just pull up to the gate at the thrift store during business hours and honk. Someone will come out and unload your car or truck. If you would like a receipt, we will be happy to provide one.

We also try to provide the basic necessities for those who lack food and personal items. These would be new, unused items. For an itemized list of supplies we need most, please click here.

And if you don't have second-hand treasures to donate, gifts of cash help us meet special needs and allow us to fund student tuition and scholarships.

Buy Something

Come to the Hands Extended Thrift Store and look around—you're sure to find a bargain, and we'll use the funds to provide much-needed food, clothing, and supplies to the neediest in our community.

And before you leave, please consider dropping your change in the Donations box at the register. All those pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters go to the local food bank.

Do Something

We are always looking for volunteer workers (especially year-round folks). You can help us receive donations, sort items, price items, test items, merchandise items, help serve customers, and ring up sales. Surely you can fit in there somewhere! Just come into the store and fill out an application.

Say Something

The very best advertisement is word-of-mouth. Please tell your friends and neighbors where you bought that great outfit or set of dishes. Let them know about the people and organizations we support.

And while you're at it, please put in a word on our behalf with God. We appreciate your prayers and believe they make a big difference.
